2023 College Hall of Fame Class Includes 12 Former First Round Picks

The 2023 College Football Hall of Fame Class that was announced this week includes 10 offensive and 8 defensive players. All 18 players either were unanimous or consensus First Team All-America selections during their collegiate careers.

The 2023 Class includes players from five decades. Bill Kollar, the outstanding defensive tackle from Montana State (1971-73), is the only new Hall of Famer from the ‘70s. He is the first-ever player from Montana State to be named to the College Hall of Fame.

Two other members of this 2023 Class also are first-time Hall of Famers for their schools. Brian Westbrook (1997-98, 2000-01) is the first Villanova Wildcat in the Hall while DeAngelo Williams (2002-05) is the initial representative of the University of Memphis named to the prestigious Hall.

Four of the 18 new inductees—LaMichael James, Derrick JohnsonLuke Kuechly and Tim Tebow—made the Hall on their first year of eligibility.

The complete 2023 Class is here. The College Hall of Fame is located in Atlanta. The new class increases the number of Hall of Fame members to 1,074, or less than 0.02% of those who played collegiately in last 150 years.

“Each of these new members has established himself among the absolute best to have ever played the game,” says National Football Foundation Chairman Archie Manning. “We look forward to recognizing them throughout the 2023 season and formally enshrining them this December.”

Think Next

SEASON KICK-OFF

It’s that time of year again; pre-season is over and the NFL football season is kicking off tonight at 8:20 ET with the Bills vs. the Rams.

As many of us are gearing up to watch, some of us are still enjoying the last days of summer, squeezing the last bit of rest and relaxation out of them. For the first time in two years we are back to some semblance of normalcy around play, health and safety and living life in general.

I’m excited to welcome everyone back to football and to the 25th anniversary year of the Professional Football Players Mothers Association Inc.  With the support from our members, I look forward to a productive year of programs and activities that will include a new member orientation; a new member mentoring program which comprises veteran mothers serving as champions for new and incoming members; working with the NFLPA to enhance the PFPMA website to serve as a productive resource hub for our members; a relaunch of our PFPMA Scholarship program; and once again hosting our “Next Level Up-Beginning with the End In Mind”, a much needed program for high school and college athletes and their parents and guardians.

For this 2022-2023 year two words come to mind, “Think Next.” We’re on the precipice of a lot of good things that will bring good progress for PFPMA, Inc.  Thank you for your support.

Let's go!
