I am Denise Wayne, reelected president of the Professional Football Players Mothers Association (PFPMA). Feel free to browse our site to see what we are about and what we are doing! PFPMA is a non-profit service organization dedicated to educating and informing moms about the business of professional football, supporting charitable causes and the communities where our sons were raised and where they now live. Our calendar of events, who we are, photos of our special events, how you can join and how to contact us are available for you to view and much more. To our members, enjoy our web site and surf frequently to stay abreast of what's going on. I would like to take this opportunity to invite Moms that are not members of PFPMA you to join us in our efforts to promote charity, support our sons and form new and lifelong friendships!
On Sunday, December 14, 1997, twelve mothers of professional football players met to discuss the possibility of forming a national association to support each other and our player sons. It was determined that there was no mechanism to provide information to mothers whose sons were new to professional football, and that such an association would be beneficial. Preliminary attempts were made to identify mothers who would work on the organizing committee. After making initial contacts, a teleconference was held on March 15, 1998 with fifteen mothers participating. The mothers reached a consensus and thereby the Professional Football Players Mothers Association (PFPMA) was born.
We are a non-profit corporation comprised of mothers of professional football players, or those who serve that role in a player's life. We are here to create a support system and information network for mothers of professional football players by forming a membership association to address specific needs and concerns, and enhance the public perception of our sons. Our organization is nationwide, and our goal is to have mothers whose sons represent each football team. The history continues......
To identify and implement programs that advance the organizations vision by providing yearly educational seminars and programs designed to inform and assist players and their mothers in their transition to the NFL. To provide financial and moral support to charities for at-risk-youth and disadvantaged communities with revenue generated yearly in fund-raising events and organizational sponsorships and to also provide volunteer representation in events in local communities to promote education by sharing the success of our sons and PFPMA.
The Professional Football Players Mothers Association's purpose is to educate and inform Mothers about the business of professional football; enhance the public image of professional football players, promote respect and fair play on and off the field, assist our sons in their charitable efforts in the communities from which they came and in which they work, and to support each other.
